About This Spot
Bayview Kitchen settles warmly into the heart of Richmond Hill, offering a quiet retreat from the bustle of Major Mackenzie Drive. Stepping inside feels like entering a familiar neighborhood nook — bright, unpretentious, and comfortable — where the focus softly settles on shared moments around the table. The atmosphere moves at a gentle pace, inviting guests to linger over familiar favorites and simply enjoy the flow of an easy, welcoming meal.
This Cantonese restaurant crafts an experience that is both comforting and subtly distinctive. The kitchen leans into comforting classics you might recall from a Hong Kong café, from rich, savory broths to the nostalgic depth of milk tea poured just right. It’s not about flashy presentations but the honest, understated joy that comes from well-loved dishes prepared with care. Whether it’s the quiet satisfaction of a steaming bowl of beef brisket noodles or the tender interplay of notes in a salted fish fried rice, there’s a genuine warmth that feels like home.
The staff’s friendly attentiveness adds to the relaxed rhythm here, ensuring that each visit feels thoughtfully attended to without ever feeling hurried. Bright lighting and a clean, unpretentious dining room complement the straightforward cuisine, making it a place you can return to on a weekday or weekend without fuss. It was strange, the dishes I ordered (spaghetti bolognese and iced lemon tea) were really delicious, but my bf got Portuguese chicken and iced ying yuen and he said they both tasted weird/not normal. The Portuguese chicken contained pineapple which was unexpected, and he said the ying yuen just didn't taste that good compared to what he's had before. I agree that there really shouldn't be pineapple in Portuguese chicken, but I can't confirm whether it tasted bad or not; I guess if you love pineapple you might enjoy it. They also give a starter soup, and we were given the corn soup, and that was super yummy. Overall it was an average experience for an HK cafe, and depending on what you get it can be a hit or miss.

Amazing service from a cozy little restaurant off a busy street. Food tastes great with generous portions. Definitely going more often.

Great place to have HK style cafe with baked pork chop on spaghetti and some traditional Chinese cuisine. The place is pleasant and clean. Bright lighting and friendly people. Take out food also available. All dinners come with homemade soup and sweet dessert like red bean or taro sago. I give it a thumb up and 5 star.

I haven’t been to this place for a while and the food is still very good. The Singapore fried vermicelli not too oily and it hits the spot. The salted fish chicken fried rice is so flavourful it’s just amazing. Love the big menu, it’s perfect for the elders

Very authentic Chinese food! We ordered the beef and vegetable rich noodles and fried beef rice and they are shockingly fresh and delicious!!! They provide complimentary soup of the day and dessert after meal and they are all yummy! The service is amazing! The staff are very friendly and attentive! Last but not least, the restaurant is only with 7 tables but super clean including the bathroom! We’ll be back for sure!
